Training for New Managers: Equipping Front-line Leaders at Lhoist Group

We are excited to continue the ‘Managing with Purpose’ learning journey at Lhoist Group. This comprehensive blended learning journey is designed to equip new managers with the essential skills and competencies they need to become effective and self-assured leaders; ‘One Lhoist’ leaders who prioritize providing a best-in-class employee experience. 

This award-winning program begins with a series of workshops designed to build foundational leadership skills. These workshops cover a range of topics including self-awareness, effective communication, and how to build and manage strong teams. Participants engage in interactive sessions encouraging them to share experiences and learn from one another, fostering a social learning environment.

The learning journey unfolds over the course of a year in order to encourage participants to practice their new skills in a supportive environment, receive feedback, and adjust their leadership approach in real-time. Through hands-on project work linked to strategic priorities of the business, they gain a broader understanding of the Lhoist Group and build stronger networks within the organization.

Six-Month Coaching Program

The learning journey concludes with a six-month digital coaching program aligned with the Lhoist Leadership Model and Competency Framework.  

Throughout the coaching program, managers receive personalized guidance from experienced certified coaches. This helps the participants to apply the theoretical knowledge gained during the workshops to real-world scenarios, enhancing practical leadership abilities. The coaching sessions also focus on developing emotional intelligence, resilience, and the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
